The C.E.A.C. credential brings professionalism and diversity to your current high-end rehab business. Accessible home modifications, accessibility products and barrier-free design can greatly promote the independence and functional ability of physically challenged and aging individuals.

Falls inside the home are the number one cause of injury among the elderly. There are a number of obstacles in and outside a home that can cause trips and falls. Make Every Room in Your Home Accessible and Safe

Stairlifts and Accessibility for your Outdoor Deck, Waterfront Deck, and Waterfront Property.

People who are in wheelchairs often have it hard when it comes to moving around in public. Unfortunately, it often is not that much easier at home if there are stairs present. Stairs often limit their mobility unless steps are taken to enable them to access the stairs safely. One of the best ways to make a house with stairs fully accessible is to add a stairlift or home chair lift.

The Earliest Stair lift

It seems the first concept of a stairlift actually comes from Henry VIII. Because he was apparently injured while jousting and had limited mobility, he later invented a crude way to be lifted from one floor to the next, most likely using a block and tackle system. Since then, there have been many modern techniques and options added to them.

Stairlifts Increase Independence

When people cannot move from one floor to the next in their own home, it makes them feel more dependent on others. Adding a home chair lift, however, changes that and lets them move from floor to floor, if necessary, whenever they want. This gives them greater freedom of movement and helps them to feel comfortable more at home, enabling them to take a nap in their bed when they want, or get something they need from their bedroom.

It also removes the necessity of requiring a senior or disabled person from having to move to the first floor. A stair lift will let them stay where they are and major modifications will not be needed in the home. In some cases, it may even remove the need to sell the home and buy another one that is more accessible.

Make Your Home Safer

When it comes to injury to the elderly in the home, falls are the number one cause. Avoid the risk by adding a stairlift to your home, so that they can move from one floor to the next without a risk of falling. It also enables them to not be afraid to go on the stairs by giving them the desired stability needed. Family members who are concerned about them also have much less to be worried about knowing that their loved one is safer – even when going up or down the stairs.

Outdoor Stairlift and Outdoor Accessibility

In most cases, stairlifts can be rather easily added to your existing stairways. There are different models available, along with a number of various functions. This saves the trouble of having to remodel the home, and it allows the work to be performed rather quickly. A chair lift can also be added for temporary needs. Chair lifts come in either battery-operated or electric types, and some have both.

If you live in the northern Illinois and Indiana, or south-central and southeastern Wisconsin areas, we invite you to call us today and let us tell you about how a chairlift can benefit your loved one and increase their independence and mobility around their home.
