The Handicare 4000 is a premium curved stairlift designed to deliver a smooth, reliable ride on complex staircases. Built with a custom twin-rail system, it is engineered to handle tight turns, steep angles, and multi-landing layouts with precision. Whether your staircase is narrow, winding, or uniquely shaped, the Handicare 4000 provides stable performance and a comfortable travel experience every time.
Its compact design helps preserve space in your home while offering a clean, modern appearance when parked. Each system is custom-fitted to your staircase, and installation is typically straightforward with minimal home modification required. The result is a dependable mobility solution that blends seamlessly into your home while restoring safe, effortless access between floors.
Enhance your Handicare 4000 with optional power features designed to improve comfort, convenience, and everyday ease of use.
Upgrade your Handicare 1100 with a power folding footrest for added convenience. This feature automatically folds the footrest, reducing the need to bend down manually and making everyday use easier and more comfortable.
The power swivel seat automatically rotates when the stairlift reaches the top landing, making it easier and safer to get on and off the lift. This feature is ideal for users who have difficulty manually turning the seat using the swivel lever.
An optional power folding hinge automatically lifts the rail out of the way when not in use, helping keep doorways and lower landings clear while reducing potential trip hazards.
Consider the Perch seat option if knee or hip discomfort makes it difficult to sit fully while using the stairlift. It provides added support in a more upright position for improved comfort and accessibility.
An optional five-point harness provides additional support and security, helping you feel more stable and confident during every ride.
Optional 90° or 180° parking positions allow the chair to move around stair railings at the top, bottom, or both landings, creating a safer and more open space for getting on and off the stairlift.
Obstacle Detection System:
Integrated sensors on the footrest and carriage automatically stop the stairlift if any obstruction is detected along the rail.
Swivel & Lock Seat:
The seat rotates and locks securely into position, allowing for safe and stable exiting at the top landing.
Safety Features:
A non-slip footrest surface and a retractable seat belt provide added stability and rider security during use.
Overspeed Brake:
Built-in speed control ensures the lift maintains safe, regulated descent speeds for smooth and secure operation.

Designed for smooth, space-conscious performance, the Handicare 4000 curved system is engineered to operate discreetly while blending into your staircase.
Thanks to its precision twin-rail design, the system can be tightly shaped to handle sharp turns, narrow stairways, and 90-degree parking configurations without sacrificing fit or performance. When not in use, it leaves more open space on the stairs and maintains a clean, low-profile appearance.
1. Standard Finish & Upholstery
The standard rail features a light grey finish, paired with an off-white carriage and vanilla-colored seat upholstery for a clean, neutral appearance.
2. Easy-to-Use Controls
Operate the stairlift easily using the ergonomic toggle control conveniently located on the armrest.
3. Space-Saving Foldable Design
The seat, footrest, and armrests fold away when not in use, helping keep the stairway open and the lift compact.
4. Wireless Remote Access
Includes two infrared remote controls, allowing you to call or send the stairlift from either the top or bottom landing.
5. Battery-Powered Reliability
The Handicare 4000 uses a dependable rack-and-pinion drive system powered by rechargeable batteries, with charging points located at both ends of the rail. In the event of a power outage, the stairlift can continue providing multiple trips up and down the stairs.
The Handicare 4000 can be configured for outdoor use in mild to moderate climates with a specialized exterior package. Designed to withstand the elements, this option includes nickel-plated rails, durable stainless steel supports, and weather-resistant dark gray (slate) upholstery for long-lasting performance outdoors.
