More Than a Customer: Celebrating Marybeth’s Story With Access Elevator

Some customer relationships go far beyond the products we install or the services we provide. They become lasting friendships built through years of trust, laughter and shared experiences. Our relationship with Marybeth is one of those special stories.

Marybeth recently visited our Access Elevator, Inc. showroom in Roselle, Illinois, to try several new slings for her SureHands ceiling lift system. After using the same type of body support for nearly 20 years, changes in her condition meant she needed a different sling setup that would better meet her current needs.

Because the hospital where Marybeth was staying could not allow our team to visit and perform an evaluation, transportation was arranged to bring her to our showroom. At the same time, she could not be released from the hospital without a reliable lifting plan in place – creating a difficult “chicken-and-egg” situation for Marybeth and everyone involved in her care.

Thankfully, we were able to welcome her into our showroom and begin working toward a solution.

Finding the Right Sling – And Enjoying Every Minute Together

It took our team approximately 30 minutes to identify a sling that provided the support Marybeth needed. However, the visit lasted much longer than that. We spent the next 90 minutes laughing, talking and catching up with someone who has held a very special place in the history of Access Elevator in Illinois.

Marybeth was Access Elevator’s very first Illinois customer after we opened our Roselle location in June 2010. We have been honored to work with her ever since.

During this visit, Marybeth was also able to meet two important members of our team in person for the first time. She met our Service Manager, Susie, who helps ensure her lift systems are properly maintained each year, and our Project Manager, Marlo, who has helped make several areas of Marybeth’s home safer and more accessible.

Over the years, our team has helped create a bedroom for Marybeth’s caregiver, remodel her bathroom and rebuild her wooden wheelchair ramp. Each project has been another chapter in a relationship that has now lasted more than 16 years.

A Remarkable Person and Published Author

Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet Marybeth knows how quickly her personality and smile can brighten a room. Her creativity and positive spirit also shine through in her work as a published author.

Marybeth has written several books available on Amazon, including Asha Sees With Her Heart. We are incredibly proud to celebrate her accomplishments and share her work with others.

Relationships That Last

At Access Elevator, our work has always been about more than installing accessibility equipment. It is about listening to people, understanding how their needs may change and continuing to be there for them throughout every stage of life.

Marybeth is much more than one of our first Illinois customers. She is a valued part of the Access family, and it was truly a pleasure to welcome her into our home in Roselle.

Thank you, Marybeth, for trusting Access Elevator since 2010. We are grateful for every laugh, every conversation and every year we have had the privilege of working with you.
