Helping people live more independently starts with a commitment to learning, sharing ideas, and working together. Access Elevator, Inc. was proud to attend the VGM Live at Home Home Access Summit in Atlanta, Georgia, October 14–16, 2026. Our very own CEO, Frank Wasilewski, participated as both an attendee and a speaker, contributing to conversations about the future of home accessibility.
The summit brought together more than 150 home access companies, along with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and manufacturing partners. It provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technology, and strengthen the relationships that help our industry better serve individuals and families.

Frank Wasilewski Speaks on the Future of Home Access
Frank’s presentation focused on the importance of home access professionals having a voice in the decisions shaping their work. He discussed AEMA, NAEC, and the influences affecting the industry, including legislation, organized labor, healthcare, insurance, and private equity. His message emphasized participation, collaboration, and a shared responsibility to help shape the industry’s future.
For Access, these conversations connect directly to our customers. Staying informed and involved helps us understand changes that could affect how people obtain accessibility solutions and how those solutions are delivered.
Exploring Technology and the Customer Experience
Technology was a major focus throughout the summit, with artificial intelligence featured in many presentations and discussions. Sessions explored developments in customer relationship management, photo and measurement assistance, presentation tools, and the overall customer experience.
These emerging tools offer opportunities to improve communication and support the work of experienced home access professionals. Learning about these developments helps Access evaluate how technology could make the process more helpful and efficient for our customers.

Following Legislative and Funding Opportunities
Attendees heard from national lobbyist Ryann Hill about legislative proposals involving tax credits, grants, and insurance initiatives intended to help Americans make home modifications. Access will continue following these discussions as proposals develop.
Funding for home modifications was another important topic, including discussion of HUD programs that support aging in place. Our team members Christin and Cassandra are actively working with agencies to explore opportunities that could benefit communities in Wisconsin and Illinois. Understanding these resources is part of our ongoing effort to help customers connect with potential support.
Strengthening Partnerships With Occupational Therapists
An occupational therapy panel highlighted the value of collaboration between healthcare professionals and experienced accessibility providers. Assessing a person’s needs, understanding their daily routines, and identifying barriers in the home can help guide more thoughtful recommendations.
Access looks forward to strengthening relationships with occupational therapists in our service areas. This coordinated approach can help connect individuals and families with solutions that address their needs and support greater independence at home.
Celebrating Leaders Who Make a Difference
The summit also celebrated individuals making meaningful contributions to the industry. Darren Corcoran of COR Freedom/Vet’s Access in Michigan received Member of the Year honors for his work on a Home Access Apprenticeship program and his Living Showroom.
The Living Showroom demonstrates accessibility solutions in an actual home, giving visitors an opportunity to see how modifications can support everyday living.
Christopher Moore received the annual Paying It Forward award for his work in aging in place, CAPS certification education, podcasting, and his new book, Age Out Loud. His contributions highlight the importance of education and sharing perspectives that help home access professionals better understand and serve older adults.

Sharing Ideas to Better Serve Our Customers
Marketing sessions offered insight into understanding customers, communicating a company’s strengths, and creating a positive experience from the first conversation forward. Jim Prophet’s presentation encouraged companies to recognize what makes their approach valuable, while an industry panel explored social media, print, showrooms, and customer experience.
Some of the most valuable conversations happened between sessions. Peer discussions gave attendees time to exchange business practices, work through common challenges, and share ideas for improving home access. Access’s radio outreach, business model, and approach to service sparked conversations with fellow professionals throughout the event.
Our Team Makes It Possible
When Frank was asked how Access accomplishes what it does, his answer was simple: “We have a GREAT Team of people to work with.”
That recognition belongs to the people who show up every day, answer questions, solve problems, and go the extra mile for our customers. Their care and dedication are what make our work possible.
Thank you to VGM Live at Home, the presenters, and our industry partners for bringing this community together. We returned with new ideas, stronger connections, and a renewed commitment to helping people throughout Wisconsin and Illinois live with greater access and independence.
