At Access Elevator, Inc., our mission has always been rooted in creating independence, dignity, and accessibility for those living with disabilities. Last week, our Roselle, Illinois location was honored to welcome a powerful voice in that mission—Bill Bogdan, Disability Liaison for the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office and a passionate advocate for disability rights across the state.
The meeting, organized by our very own Christin Falco, offered employees a unique and impactful opportunity to hear firsthand what life is like navigating the world in a wheelchair. Bill graciously shared his personal story, offering insight into his journey growing up with a disability and the everyday challenges that many people with disabilities still face today.
But Bill is far more than a speaker—he’s a change-maker.
As one of Illinois’ most active disability advocates, Bill is a driving force behind legislative change, public education, and community support. He has:
-
Delivered countless public lectures on accessibility and inclusion
-
Helped write and support new legislation in Congress to improve conditions across Illinois
-
Founded and operates a grant foundation supporting disability-related causes
-
Fought against exclusionary laws, ensuring all persons are considered in public policy
Notably, Bill was a key figure in preserving our industry back in 2006, leading efforts to protect access to home modifications for people with disabilities. Thanks to his work, companies like Access Elevator exist to help individuals live safely and independently at home.
During his visit, Bill didn’t just lecture—he connected. He answered employee questions, shared personal stories, and left us with a refreshed perspective on the “why” behind everything we do. It was a reminder that every stair lift, ramp, elevator, and home modification we provide is more than equipment—it’s a life-changing tool for someone who needs it.
We’re incredibly grateful to Bill Bogdan for sharing his time, insight, and passion with our team. And a big thank you to Christin Falco for organizing such a meaningful event. Together, we’re reminded that advocacy and education are just as important as installation and service.
Thank you, Bill. Thank you, Christin. And thank you to our team, who make a difference every single day.
