The world of gaming continues to grow at an incredible pace—and with that growth comes an important conversation about accessibility and inclusion. On Tuesday, March 17, Access Elevator will be attending the Wisconsin Esports Summit at UWM Panther Arena, where leaders from across Wisconsin will gather to discuss the future of esports, technology, and community engagement.
Hosted by the Milwaukee Esports Alliance, the Wisconsin Esports Summit has become one of the state’s premier gatherings for esports professionals, educators, students, and industry partners. The event focuses on building connections, sharing ideas, and advancing the esports ecosystem through education, networking, and interactive gaming experiences.
This year’s summit will feature panel discussions, industry speakers, networking opportunities, immersive gaming experiences—including virtual reality and sim racing—and competitive gameplay on the arena’s big stage.
Why Accessibility Matters in Gaming
Gaming has the power to connect people across the world, but for many individuals with disabilities, barriers still exist—whether they involve physical controls, gaming setups, or access to inclusive gaming communities.
At the summit, an important panel titled Accessibility & Inclusion in Gaming, hosted by Cassandra Potter, will highlight the importance of making gaming environments more inclusive for everyone. This conversation will focus on how the gaming industry, educators, and community organizations can work together to ensure players of all abilities can participate and thrive.
While the esports summit is newer to our adaptive gaming group, we’re excited to be part of the conversation. The the discussion will focus on the importance of creating inclusive gaming environments and expanding accessibility in esports—a topic that aligns closely with the mission of Access Elevator.
Access Elevator’s Role in Accessibility
For more than three decades, Access Elevator has been dedicated to removing barriers and advancing independence. From installing stairlifts and elevators to modifying homes, bathrooms, and vehicles, our goal has always been to create environments where people of all abilities can live safely and independently.
But accessibility isn’t limited to homes and buildings—it extends to every part of life, including recreation, education, and gaming.
Events like the Wisconsin Esports Summit help expand the conversation about accessibility beyond traditional spaces and into emerging industries like esports, where innovation and technology are shaping the future.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to attend the summit, connect with others in the gaming and technology communities, and continue learning about how accessibility can play a role in the future of esports.

By bringing together gamers, educators, developers, and accessibility advocates, events like this help ensure that gaming truly becomes a space where everyone can participate.
