At Access Elevator, Inc., our mission has always been about removing barriers and advancing independence. Today, we want to share the story of someone who needs our community’s support more than ever.
Mike Traub’s life changed in an instant. It wasn’t a car accident. It wasn’t something reckless or dramatic. It was a simple slip in the shower — a moment that left Mike paralyzed from the shoulders down. Overnight, the life he knew disappeared. He cannot feed himself, hold a phone, sit up without help, or hug the people he loves.
His wife, Nicole, is now not only his partner but also one of his primary caregivers while working full-time. Their daughter faces a future without the support of a father who once helped with every part of their life. What used to be home and family is now filled with hospital rooms, medical equipment, and countless appointments. The emotional toll is unimaginable.
At Access Elevator, Inc., we are honored to work with Mike and Nicole to make their home accessible and provide support during this life-altering time. But the reality is overwhelming, and they need help from all of us — friends, neighbors, and our community of customers.
We invite you to visit Mike’s GoFundMe – Care for Mike After His Life – Changing Fall. Your support will help cover essential care, home modifications, adaptive equipment, and the ongoing costs of this new reality. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Even sharing Mike’s story or keeping him in your thoughts helps lift a burden that feels unbearable.
One small fall changed everything, but together, we can help Mike and his family find stability, comfort, and hope in the days ahead.
